Department of Cannabis Control
The Department of Cannabis Control (DCC) is the California state agency that licenses and regulates cannabis businesses. DCC regulates the:
- Growing of cannabis plants
- Manufacture of cannabis products
- Transportation and tracking of cannabis goods throughout the state
- Sale of cannabis goods
- Events where cannabis is sold or used
- Labeling of goods sold at retail

METRC
California has selected Metrc as the state’s track-and-trace system used to track commercial cannabis activity and movement across the distribution chain ("seed-to-sale"). This site is intended to give annual and provisional licensees information that will help them use Metrc to remain in compliance with California’s tracking and reporting requirements.
